Charles Brand 16x30 etching press for intaglio, gravure and mono printing

  

This is a beautiful 16x30 Charles Brand etching press. It's been well used, and well cared for, and works perfectly.

I have used it to print photogravures, which demand a lot of pressure, and it's never let me down. The drive is geared, I believe it's a 25:1 gearbox, so the handle turns very easily when you're printing.

It could use a little touch-up paint here and there, and a good scrubbing. I'd call its condition excellent if it weren't for those minor details. It's just had it's annual greasing. Included are a set of good blankets (possibly two sets), a Takach Press registration grid, and the plexi bed cover. This is a 2 (brawny) man moving job. Removing the bed makes it a whole lot lighter, and the press comes off the base by taking out 4 bolts if you need it to. Assembled or disassembled, the press is small enough to fit into a truck or van. It takes up very little room in the print shop or studio, and produces wonderful prints. I'm letting it go because I have a larger press, and it's not getting used much anymore. Please don't confuse the big wheel in back of it in the main picture that is another press.
